Xbox One Announcement impressions

I've just watched the live event videos on May 21st and what can I say, lets talk about the new Xbox consoles announcements.
Microsoft was introducing the upcoming third home console called Xbox One which is the eighth generation consoles. It does have a good points on live events but some of few bad stuff that never impress me much but lets talk about the console itself. The console design is pretty much fascinating with cool looking black squared shape on top and rectangle shape on front of the console is look pretty awesome. The console itself has impressive technical specs which features 500GB Hard Drive, Blu-Ray Disc Drive, HDMI In/Output, USB 3.0, 802.11 wireless with wi-fi direct, 8GB DRAM, 32MB ESRAM, 8 cores for CPU, and Direct3D 11 for GPU which improves the performance of the Xbox One hardware system. The controller is like the previous X360 controller but slightly different design. It has a same buttons layout but has curved analog stick and reshape d-pad button. It features 16% longer battery life and built in rumble system on triggers which is pretty cool for new controller to have impulse triggers. Xbox One will have instant access to movies, live TV, music, and web browser though media - inter-connectivity. Set-top box is also featured on this console which the Xbox One can pass the cable box signal through the HDMI which allowing console to overlay a UI and feature on top of an existing TV channel. This console has voice commands which allows users to control Xbox functions for example:

  • If you want to watch TV, all you have to say is "Xbox, take me to TV" and it takes you to TV channel.
  • If you want to answer call to your friends on Skype, just say "Xbox, turn on answer call" and it will turn on the answer phone.
  • If you want to go internet browser, say "Xbox, go on internet browser" and it takes you to internet browser.
I say the voice command functions are sounds ok'ay and I'm don't like the new Kinect which is pretty lame and feels quite the same thing as the 360's Kinect but It's the updated version. New Kinect conteins 1080p camera and new motion control would process 2GB of data per second. I've heard the Microsoft will announce the video projector technology called illumiroom which allows the gameplay screen to extend the size of the screen which is going to be bigger than the HDTV screen size which I don't think it's a good idea for new console but It would have been play better on the actual HDTV. The Xbox One will feature the operating system which allow to run the three devices such as Xbox OS, Windows Kernel, and another OS which is sounds awesome to have and however it will not run standard Windows apps which is shame but it would been nice to have. The Xbox Live will holds the 300,000 servers for Xbox One users which is going to be bigger severs than the 15,000 for Xbox 360 users. It will includes the cloud services that allows users to store musics, movies, and saved content which is pretty cool idea from Microsoft.
There are some of the games has been announced that the game developers like to bring their games on Xbox One such as: Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghost, Quantum Break, Thief, Forza Motorsport 5, and Watch Dogs will be available soon. I don't think Xbox One will be played original Xbox and X360 compatibility which Microsoft haven't confirm it yet but i'm sure they are bring the old game to Xbox Live as the downloadable games.

UPDATE 27/08/2015:

I've added the link down below for anyone to see my rant on Xbox One DRM. The reason why I had to include these links is because I haven't mention the Xbox One DRM on this blog that already published on 21/05/2013, so I had to make another blog of my rant on Xbox One Used Games Rant and Microsoft drops DRM from Xbox One. So here's the link down below and hopefully you will like these blogs that I've made it since long time ago.
