Yes everyone it's true, I've heard that SEGA has finally announced these masterpiece are coming to PS4, XBONE and PC as the HD Remaster. The dream has finally come true.
We all know Shenmue series had becoming one of the best open-world game ever made which was created by Yu Suzuki, a well known creator behind his work of the arcade classics from the past such as Space Harrier, After Burner, Outrun, Hang-On and of course Virtua Fighter. During the sixth generation console era, SEGA AM2 has bought their very first open-world adventure game for SEGA Dreamcast called Shenmue which was released in the year 1999. The game was really known for cinematic story presentation, memorable characters, large exploration of open-world areas, great combination of quick-time events and brawling gameplay, and beautifully made graphics that shows the SEGA Dreamcast's system powerhouse. While the game did not sold well which leads to commercial failure, it gained cult following which received acclaimed praise by critics and fans calling it a greatest game ever made and also credited for pioneering the genres. They also made the sequel for the SEGA Dreamcast called Shenmue 2 was released in 2001 and later for original Xbox version in 2002 has received same praise as the first one, but sold poorly compared with the first game which causes the further games in the series entered a period of development hell lasting over a decade. In the year 2015, after Yu Suzuki has the rights to license Shenmue series from SEGA, he finally announced the another sequel Shenmue 3 for PS4 and PC which makes the huge return of the series and the game was funded through Kickstarter gains over $6.3 million from over 69,000 backers which becoming the most funded Kickstarter video game campaign and the sixth most funded Kickstarter campaign of all time.
And now SEGA has finally revealed the HD remasters of Shenmue 1 & 2 for PS4, XBONE and PC in 2018 release. After I've read the gaming article and watching the actual trailers online, I'm very appreciated with the fantastic news from SEGA has finally listened to their fans and giving us what we want for the HD release. I grew up playing these two games in my childhood age as being my favourite Dreamcast game of all time that bought up my happiness and joyful. Going back to topic, the HD version of these two games will feature maybe some possibly graphical enhancements, full screen resolution, updated user-interface, two spoken language options and choice between modern and classic controls. The console version will be available both physically and digitally, while PC version will be released via Steam. I'm excited to see these two games getting a re-release in this year and I hopefully going to get it on my PS4 on the release to play these childhood games again.
SEGA, I wanted to say thank you so much for bringing the greatest Dreamcast classics to the modern consoles and PCs, I hopefully the fans will be very happy to see such breaking news.
It is time for me to look for sailors again.
