5 Reasons why SEGA Dreamcast is awesome

As you know the SEGA Dreamcast is a last console on sixth generation. It lasted 2 years since it got released in 1999 to 2001, due to lifespan of console that didn't sold well as the SONY Playstation 2 for console marketing. Desperate the console being short lived, SEGA Dreamcast is a remarkable console that has a great games and stuff that SEGA will offers the best for SEGA fans out there. I'm going to make 5 reasons why this console so awesome and why is it deserves to be a best SEGA's consoles ever made.

1. Games library

SEGA Dreamcast has a best games out there. Seriously it's true that it has so many awesome games to enjoy with like Shenmue, Soul Calibur, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Resident Evil CODE: Veronica, Quake 3 Arena, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis, Jet set radio, Grandia 2 and many more that defines the consoles legacy.
I am glad that SEGA would also bring back a some classics Dreamcast games to XBLA and PSN will be sounds awesome.

2. Online Features

SEGA Dreamcast is a first console that features online services which called Dreamkey which you can go on web browser and send emails which is cool. It also uses some games like Chu Chu Rocket, Quake 3 Arena and Phantasy Star Online that requires a online support which lets you play a online muiltiplayer to battle a players in different areas which is damn pretty good. As you can see a back of the consoles that has a line port which connects through a dial up box to get a online running on services. It is awesome to have a game consoles with online support just before Microsoft made a Xbox Live for original Xbox in 2002.

3. Dreamcast Accessories

These accessories are awesome as hell. Light gun is useful for some shoot em ups games like House of the Dead 2 and Confidental Misson which you wanted to shoot the hell of these bad guys with light gun controller on old TV. Keyboard and mouse can be good for online browser and some games that compatible. What about Arcade stick?, that would be come in handy for some of the Dreamcast games like Marvel vs Capcom 2, Ikaruga, Cannon Spike, Zero Gunner 2 and Soul Calibur that feels you playing like a arcade games. Damn, is SEGA made a awesome accessories on Dreamcast, yes it is.

4. Jewel case

I believe the UK cover has a best looking case with better design while the US has a regular CD case which kinda boring compared to UK ones. The UK jewel case has a 2 open lid which you can put a disk on front side and manual book goes to back side which is cool but you can able to put a second disk as well on back side which is better way to put a second ones on back of the cover. The US jewel case only has a 1 open lid which only can put one disk and book on front cover. I love the artwork of the games on jewel case which is cool and it's smaller to fit well for sideboards or TV cabinet draws.

5. VMU Memory Unit

VMU is a little memory device thats connects to a Dreamcast controller. It's holds 200 blocks to save a game data and it is useful for some game like Resident Evil that has a health condition on VMU screen that the VMU tells you a health of the characters. What about Power Stone?, It's lets you play mini games through VMU which is kinda cool. So what about Sonic Adventure?, If you in the Chao's garden, you can place Chao into a VMU to play a Chao's games that look like a virtual pocket devices. VMU is a good thing but it's drains the battery easily when playing a VMU games but it's still working when it's connects to the controller which means the save data is still in the memory unit, no problem.

5 reasons why Super Nintendo is awesome

Super Nintendo is one of my favourite consoles of all times and one of the best on 16 bit era. In 1992, Nintendo brought the console on June 6th 1992 in UK to complete with their rivals SEGA who already made their first 16 bit console called SEGA Genesis which released on November 30th 1990 became a competitors of SNES. It considered to be a one of the Nintendo's masterpiece console ever made that Nintendo dominates the 16 bit era of the marketing sales and exclusive games. It's sold about almost 50 million unit in fourth generations consoles with tons of awesome games around. I'm now to give a 5 reasons why Super Nintendo is awesome and why I like it.

1. Games library

You get a wonderful choice of classics games here. SNES has a best games around in 16 bit era such as Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Starfox, Donkey Kong Country, Megaman X, Killer Instinct, Final Fantasy 6, Legend of Zelda and more. I have had a wonderful gaming experiences since I was a child in 90's. I played about 3 and half hours in day, when I can't stop playing a lot of the awesome games.

2. SNES Controller

I got a love this controller. SNES controller is one of the most unique controller which is comfortable to hold and it has a cool design looking controller. The layouts has 4 way d-pad with 4 colorful buttons on front and 2 shoulders triggers on top which is good for most of the fighting games such as Street Fighter 2, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Killer Instinct which requires 6 buttons for the part of the gameplay to make it playable for the games. It's much easier than the SEGA Genesis controller which has a bulky design with big buttons is harder for most of the SEGA Genesis games unless you have to use a 6 way Genesis controller instead. SNES controller is in perfect shape with small layout makes a better controller makes a better gameplay experiences. So it's frigging kick ass.

3. Console design

I own a SNES as a UK console models. The UK models has a same design as a Japanese models while US models has a different design. The UK models looks better with better layouts and slick looking design. The US models has a kiddish design that looks like the brick. So the US model is look damn pretty good for hardcore Nintendo fans in US but The UK models is look nostalgic as ever.

4. SNES Accessories

Nintendo has a offers for fans to bring a coolest peripherals for SNES. Super Scope 6 is useful for most of the shooting games genres. The muiltitap can be handful for playing the games that has a 3 or 4 players like Super Bomberman, Secret of Mana and Micro Machines would be friggin epic. SNES Mouse is very cool for the game like Mario Paint and Cannon Fodder. Super Game Boy lets you play any Game Boy games right on your TV which is cool thing. Nintendo made a awesome accessories for 16 bit era.

5. Impressive Graphics Engine

SNES has a best 16 bit graphics in fourth generations and how does that work?

Nintendo wanted to make a console that can able to run some graphics engines such as mode 7 which allows background layer to be rotated and scaled on scanline basis. Mode 7 is used for most of the games like F-Zero, Super Mario Kart, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and Super Castlevania 4.
Super FX is a enhancement chip that runs with 32 bit processor which allows to add 3D polygons is used for some games like Starfox. It also include the 2 of the games like Doom and Yoshi's Island runs with Super FX 2. I say the graphics look better on Mode 7 with colorful details and better animation while Super FX doesn't look so bad on Starfox but slightly much better than the SEGA's racing games Virtua Racing on 32X. Graphics aren't everything, It's about the gameplay as matter the most important thing in the gaming.

Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition PSVita Review

I love the Virtua Tennis 1 and 2 on SEGA Dreamcast and so with Virtua Tennis 3 for PS3 concidered to be nostalgia tennis games of all times until the Virtua Tennis 2009 on Wii just sucks ass for killing my favourites tennis franchises. I like to give a try to play a Virtua Tennis 4 on PSVita which comes with improved gameplay, better graphics and more tennis player. I have to say it's a mixed bag when I play this. I'm not saying this game is bad but what could SEGA do better on newer installiment. Let's begin to review this game. This game conteins a new tennis player, new stages, new mini games and some exclusive stuff for Vita.
Let's start of with gameplay. The gameplay is is'nt so bad when playing this, but seems to be a bit repetitive to play and sometime the touchscreen controls it may be unresponsive when the tennis player is not hitting the ball in close range, but it was not that bad overall.
The graphics are impressive in PSVita counterpart with good looking animation and visuals.
The music and sound are sound mixed. The music is absolute sucked compared to classics have a better music than this shit. The sound has a decent sound effects and voice announcer which is ok'ay.
The Special Features has a mini games, world tour, PSVita exclusive features and online muiltiplayer which is good to have it.

Advantages

Impressive graphics

Nice to have a mini games

Online battle

More tennis players

Disadvantages

Unresponsive touchscreen controls.

Repetitive gameplay.

Crappy Music compared to classics.

Slow player's abilities

Final Verdict

Let's see and find out my final opinion.

Gameplay 6.2/10 - Unresponsive touchscreen controls and repetitive gameplay.

Graphics 8/10 - Great looking animation and visuals.

Music and Sound 5.5/10 - Crappy music and ok'ay sounds.

Special Features 7/10 - Mini games, world tour, PSVita exclusive features and online muiltiplayer.

Overall 6.4/10 - As far it's better than the Virtua Tennis 2009 on Wii. It's quite disappointing that SEGA never get used with this installiment with some major flaws. Virtua Tennis 4 is an ok'ay game, I'm sure SEGA will do better in new installiment. I say it's worth to rent it before you made a decision whatever you like it or not.

Live Powerful Pro Baseball 2010 PS3 Review

Live Powerful Pro Baseball (A.K.A Jikkyou Pawafuru Puro Yakyu in Japanese) is a Japanese only baseball series made by Konami who are well known for soccer games such as Pro Evolution Soccer and International Superstar Soccer are my 2 favourites sports series. I decided to give a try of the baseball games that I wanted to play it on consoles. I have not tried the Major League Baseball games yet because I did'nt have one but instead I'll have a go with Live Powerful Pro Baseball series on SNES and N64 which I'm using the emulators software on my laptop and what can I say?, It's a interesting baseball game with Nippon Professional Baseball Players made of cartoon characters known as Pawapurokun which is quite simular to Ubisoft's characters Rayman. The gameplay is gimmicky fun to play and the challenging is very good indeed, so this is reason I wanted to get this game for PS3 to try it out, if it's good as the classics baseball games.
Ok'ay lets do the review of the Japanese exclusive games for PS3 shall we.

Live Powerful Pro Baseball 2010 comes with new NPB players in team, new stages, improved gameplay ability, updated graphics, success mode, pennant mode, arrange mode and online mode is featured in the game.
The success mode is to complete the baseball career which contains a story and improving a players abilities through scenarios.
The pennant mode is a championship league.
The arrange mode is for creating the teams.
The online mode is for battle players through the online muiltiplayer.
It also have a versus mode to play with your friends in 2 players games or maybe play 1 player on your own with computer players.
let's talk about the gameplay. The gameplay is far impressive with good players abilities, depends the characters condition has a good or bad strength for a role of batsmen and fielders. The targeting controls is very good for players but when balancing with the analog stick is may seems bit harder to control it but you may also change controls setting on pause menu and replace it to moving targeting is seems lot easier and better to use than balancing with analog controls. The batsmen is quite good for hitting ball on under and some are quite good at hitting ball high up to get a homerun, if the aiming symbols is bigger but you may sometime end up hitting the ball in wrong directions but you need to get a right time to hit the ball in correct aiming. You may also control them to run around the zone positions where they can stop to or carry on run around but it's annoying to run back to current zone positions, if the current batsmen got out. The fielders is good for throwing ball in different targeting and you may also controlling fielders to catch the ball in right fielding or pass it to players on right zone positons to get the players out of the game.
The graphics is quite nice with characters design is much reminds me of one of the Ubisoft's characters Rayman because of the figures of the characters is quite both simular with unique design and features. The backgrounds and textures are looking colorful and bright with nice animation and visuals.
The music and sounds has a catchy music but you may also play a custom soundtrack from PS3 home menu during the game which seems to be a great idea to fit the music in the game. It has a good sound effects with crowd backgrounds and voice of Japanese commentator is sounds cool in the game.
The special features has a online mode, arrange mode, pennant mode and success mode which is a decent choice in the game to have.

Advantages

Good players abilities.

Impressive gameplay.

Nice looking graphics.

Features custom soundtrack to play MP3 music.

Cool looking characters.

All Japanese games are region free, due to PS3 considered to be a free region consoles to play any region games in different country.

Disadvantages

Sometimes the gameplay is little bit repetitive.

You may not able to read in Japanese, if you're only American and European gamer need to figure it out during the game options.

This game can be expensive on some websites like ebay and amazon.

Final Verdict

Here is my conclusion.

Gameplay 8/10 - Great players abilities and Impressive controls makes a very good baseball games.

Graphics 8/10 - Nice characters design, colorful backgrounds and textures and great animation and visuals.

Music and sound 8.5/10 - Catchy music but has custom soundtrack is come and handy, good sound effects with crowd noise and cool voice commentator.

Special Features 7/10 - Online mode, arrange mode, pennant mode and success mode is decent choice to have it.

Overall 8.3/10 - Konami made a best baseball games for PS3 even it's only in Japan. If you interested with this game, I'm sure you can able to get it on ebay or amazon. If you want to get a english version of this, then get MLB Power Pros instead. Anyway it's still a enjoyable games and I'm sure you will like this kind of game.
