Rage PS3 Reviews

Rage is the open world FPS game for PS3, X360 and PC, which developed by Id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks.

As you know Id software are famous for classics FPS games like Wolfenstein 3d, Doom and Quake considered to be the most nostalgia FPS games of all time. I grew up with classic FPS games in childhood times, when I played these games on my good old Windows 95. So now of days, I can't wait to play this game on my PS3 because I'm a huge fan of Id software games. Ok'ay, lets move on to the review right now.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic near future, following the impact of the asteroid 99942 Apophis on Earth. The story is about Ark survivor managed to get out from underground shelter. He meets Dan Hagar who came to rescue him from the bandits. Dan give his mission to fight the bandits to save the planet from taking over the world. I say the story and characters are quite mixed bag. The story is sounds pretty mediocre with lack of explanation, plot development, weak dialogue and the whole characters in game are pretty seems forgettable and unappealing. This game has single player campaign and muiltiplayer with online and co-op mode. The gameplay plays pretty decent. You just go run around or ride with vehicle to explore the open world level and travel between mission. You have the choice of weapons such as pistols, shotguns, assault rifle, sniper rifle, crossbows and rocket launcher to choose from the weapon menus. These weapons are quite good for shooting range, balanced shot and the aiming feels very accurate indeed. You can also use throwing weapons like wingsticks, which is good for stealth combat. The grenades and remote car detonator comes very handy for combat mission. You can buy weapons and items from shops, like upgradable weapons, bullets, throwing weapons, health pack and some useful items, but you can also sell some items that you don't to keep it will saves your amount of money. While this game has main mission to complete with, you can also do side missions and mini games such as knife game, card game and race cup to enjoy your experience of this game. I say the controls feels pretty good for combat gameplay and the driving controls plays very well as the other FPS game, like Far Cry and Halo had the great driving gameplay. The mission campaign is fun too with good levels and battle fight. 

The graphics seems pretty ok'ay with nice visuals and good looking animation, but the background and textures seems kinda slow, but it's still good looking graphics.

The music and sounds has great music and decent sound effects, but the voice acting sounds bit passable for some of the characters. 

The special features has DLC content, trophy achievements, easter egg such as secrets room, and mini games in campaign.

Gameplay 7.5/10 -  Decent controls, good combat and driving gameplay.

Graphics 7/10 - Nice visuals and good looking animation, but some slow background and textures.

Music and sounds 8/10 - Great music and decent sound effects, but passable voice acting for some characters.

Special features 8/10 - It has DLC content, trophy achievements, easter egg such as secrets room, and mini games in campaign.

Overall 7.5/10 - Rage is still good game. It has some good missions, enjoyable mini games, fun to explore the whole level and worth challenging campaign, but you might not like the story and characters in the game. I highly recommended to buy this game, if you're hardcore fan of Id software games.
