F.E.A.R PS3 Review

F.E.A.R is a FPS supernatural horror games which developed by Monolith Productions and published by Sierra Entertainment.
The story came with supernatural stories with terrifying cutscenes and some disturbing atmosphere. The F.E.A.R's special ops troop known as Point Man has a mission to seizing the control of the ATC Headquarters until he discovered the nightmare of female ghost.
The atmosphere for the game is quite influenced by Horror Movies such as The Ring and The Shining, which the game itself is scary as hell, if you dared to play this game.
The Console version is different from the original PC version. PC version gets highly positive reviews since in 2005 while X360 already came out in 2006, and then PS3 came later in 2007 which also receive positive review but little lower compared to original PC version did a better job.
This game has 11 chapters for single player campaign, Online mulitiplayer and bonus mission.
The gameplay is quite decent. The controls scheme played fairly well on actual controller with good character's movement but you can also tilt sideways on trigger button that gives a main character a good cover position and you can perform slow-mo mode that gives you a intense shoot out which is cool.
The weapons are quite ok'ay like machine gun, shotgun, pistols, rail gun, grenade launcher and rocket launcher which has a decent shooting range and very accurate shot, but some times it's little too clunky compared to PC version has a much better gameplay controls, but the console version still good too.
I say the load times for PS3 version is slightly slower than the X360 version. It takes about 20 seconds to load the game up while X360 takes about less than the 20 seconds.
The graphics for PS3 version are quite mediocre compared to X360 version. The characters models look dull and diseased. The backgrounds and textures are quite smoky and lighting effect is too bright. X360 version has better graphics with better character models, background and texture, and it is more darker for lighting effects.
The music and sounds has a outstanding darker ambient for music. The sound effects are scary as hell and voice acting is sounds good that fits the characters in the game.
The special features comes with bonus mission, chapter select and instant action mode which is a good choice that the game included with good features.

Advantages

Decent Gameplay.

Great Supernatual Storyplot.

Very Scary Atmosphere.

Outstanding Music and Sound.

Good Special Features.

Disadvantages

Long loading Times.

Mediocre Graphics.

Final Verdict

Could it be good as the PC Version, I'll get my scores ready.

Gameplay 7.5/ 10 - Decent controls for console version.

Graphics 5.5/10 - Graphics aren't good as the other version.

Music and Sounds 8.5/10 - Outstanding music and good sound effects and voice acting.

Special Features 7.9/10 - Bonus mission, chapter select and instant action mode.

Overall 7.1/10 - F.E.A.R is a good game on PS3, but if the X360 did slightly better job as the PC version did, I would give it a 8/10 for better graphics and load times. I say it's recommended for a gamers who only owns the PS3 should buy it, but if you have a X360 as well, just get the X360 version instead. If you already have a game for PC, then stick it to original version. F.E.A.R is still the horrifying and most creepy horror game that you ever played. So put your disk in your console and enjoy the supernatual gaming.
