Top 5 Sonic Games

Sonic the Hedgehog series is the most memorable video game franchises by SEGA, so we all know that lovable Blue Hedgehog is the fastest Hedgehog in gaming history. Back in old days, Sonic was the rival of Nintendo's mascot Mario to win over the forth generations consoles, when it comes with consoles like SEGA Genesis that has Sonic and Super Nintendo has Mario to challenge each other in video game console wars. Sonic games were amazing on Genesis era because each of the Sonic games are frigging kick ass with awesome stages, speed, power-ups, boss fights, and collecting chaos emeralds to become Super Sonic what makes the Sonic games so memorable. When SEGA made the last console on sixth generation, they made Sonic Adventure series for SEGA Dreamcast are the best 3D platformer of decide, so after the discontinuation of SEGA Dreamcast, looks like Sonic games in modern days just aren't good as what they used to be, but still has some decent modern Sonic games out there.

So I'm going to make my top 5 favorite Sonic games of all time on my list, so this is my opinion and I hope you might like it, so please enjoy my top 5 favorites.

5 - Sonic Generations

Sonic Generations is the awesome 3D platformer game for PS3 and X360 versions, so you're playing as two of the Sonics have their quest to stop the time eater from changing their past times. This game has to offer with 9 memorable stages from previous Sonic games, which is awesome to have classy stages in modern consoles. The gameplay is very identical to previous sonic games, but improving the abilities allowing the characters to have better boost speed, homing jump attack, drift controls, stunt tricks, and sidestep to avoid objects what makes the game so playable.
The boss stages are quite epic to play with and it never gets boring at all because it keeps you play this game a lot.
I say it's better than those shitty Sonic 06 and Unleashed from the past, but I did like Sonic Colors for Nintendo Wii, but I say this game deserves the credit for real Sonic fans out there.

4 - Sonic the Hedgehog

One of the most ironic game for SEGA Genesis. Sonic the hedgehog is the fast paced 2D platformer game that SEGA shows how awesome this game in 1991. The game receives very positive overall from video game critics stating the game as the best 2D platformer on 16 bit era.
It has so many memorable stages like Green Hill Zone, Marble Zone, Starlight Zone, Spring Yard Zone, and Scrap Brain Zone are the best stages in the game.
The game is quite fast and has unique stages to make game such challenge. I also enjoyed special stages to collect chaos emeralds is quite fun to collect things in the game and I got to say that this game is definitely has the best soundtrack on each stages.

3 - Sonic Adventure series

When SEGA finally made the SEGA Dreamcast as the last console on sixth generations consoles, they offer the amazing 3D platformer adventure called Sonic Adventure, which is the true 3D Sonic game on the system.
The first game has really interesting open world places to explore and I say that the action stages are superbly epic with action packed levels, fast paced gameplay, playing as different playable characters for story campaign and it feels very challenging indeed that makes the game so awesome.
The second game is somewhat fun to play, but damn it's hard as hell, but it does have some decent storyplot on the cutscenes and enjoyable mini games as well.
I got to love that rock band "Crush 40" because they made the best soundtrack on Sonic series.
So I say it's played lot better than those crappy Sonic 06 and Unleashed have ruined the childhood franchises, so it would have been amazing that SEGA should make a another sequel to Sonic Adventure 2 for the next-gen consoles.

2 - Sonic CD

Hell yeah, Sonic CD is the only best game on SEGA CD. Yeah it's a shame that SEGA CD did fail in console market in 90's, but Sonic CD is damn good 2D platformer game that SEGA CD has to offer.
It features amazing gameplay with variety of speed abilities, bigger level design, and using time traveling system to head at different time periods within each levels, which sounds pretty cool for this game. This game has excellent zone stages with challenging levels and decent boss fight that keeps the gameplay enjoyable.
The special stages utilizes the 3D enhanced graphics are technically impressive to show what SEGA CD was capable of handling the overall hardware, but I say the special stages are pretty fun to blow up the bunch of UFO's.
The music on both US and European version are quite enjoyable with overall high quality CD soundtrack and I got to love the FMV animation of the game on both opening and closing cutscenes.
Thank god SEGA did bring this game to PSN, XBLA, and other ports for re-release in 2011.

1 - Sonic the Hedgehog 2

This is one of the my best Sonic games ever made on SEGA Genesis era. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 shows much improved over the original game, so this game offers a fantastic zone stages, superb gameplay overall, 3D special stages, and you get to play as Tails (first apprentice on Sonic 2) for 1 or 2 player co-op and VS battle.
I felt the each stages are lot more exciting than before because it's plays very fast indeed is due to Sonic's abilities are much more improved and it's very challenging as well because it keeps the game overall atmosphere.
I say the boss stages is beyond epic because Dr Robotnik is the best villain in the series.
I've enjoyed the special stages because I like the way of collecting many rings to earn chaos emeralds, which it felt a lot better than the special stages from the first Sonic games and the 2 player mode are quite fun to play as well.
If you're the fan of the platformer game, then his game is must buy for SEGA Genesis collection.

Top 5 Mario Games

Ah yes, one of the Nintendo's beloved franchises of all time that defines gaming and of course Mario is the most iconic video game mascots that everybody loves it. We have so many best Mario games out there since back in our childhood years, so we know that Shigeru Miyamoto did a fantastic job with Mario games that we all enjoy playing it on Nintendo consoles.
What makes Mario series so memorable is jumping on goombas, kick the koopa's shells, going through green pipe, collecting coins, using power-ups, unique levels and secrets, and of course it has the best music theme of all time "DOO-DOO-DOO-DOO-DOO-DOO"
Okay I decided to make my top 5 favourite Mario games on my list, so this is my opinion and I hope you might like it, so please enjoy my top 5 favourites.

5 - Super Mario Sunshine

Super Mario Sunshine is the great 3D platformer game for Nintendo Gamecube.
This game is fun and unique platformer with excellent open world levels to explore, so it has nice variety of levels with puzzled looking stages, finding the hidden levels, and boss stages is definitely worth challenging to play. I love using the fludd because it can spray water to clean the whole city and it felt very effective to attack the gooey enemies. I love collecting star shine from the different places and having fun going to any levels to mess around that never gets boring at all, so this is definitely recommended for Gamecube owners, that haven't played this game for long time or never played the game before, should try this game out.

4 - Super Mario All-Stars

Super Mario All-Stars for SNES is the best remakes of Super Mario Bros series from the original NES.
This game offers the better graphics, updated sounds, and additional save mechanisms to take advantage of the SNES hardware.
This collections has Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, and it includes japanese-exclusive release of Super Mario Bros 2, which known as Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels for international release.
I've enjoyed the first Super Mario Bros because it has fantastic levels, so many enemies to avoid, finding secret levels, and I love the theme music that keeps me playing this game. I love the Lost Levels with brand new stages, but it's more harder than the original Super Mario Bros.
I say Super Mario Bros 2 is another great sequel to original because you can play as 3 of the new characters, like Luigi that jumps so high, Toad that jumps lower compared to Mario, and Princess Peach that has abilities to float in the air, which sounds cool. I like how you pick up the objects and throw it at your enemies is the nice addition for this game and having the boss fight with Birdo are quite fun to play, even it's damn too easy to kill, but still awesome as hell.
Super Mario Bros 3 is beyond best on the Super Mario Bros series because you can select any stages on map screen, more variety of levels turns bigger than was before, using new power-ups, having an abilities to swim, climb, sliding, throwing, and floating is the biggest improvements for gameplay overall. I also enjoyed 2 player co-op for this game, especially the 2 player battle is quite enjoyable.
Super Mario All-Stars is definitely must buy for the SNES collections.

3 - Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

I know it's not part of the Mario games it's because you're playing as Yoshi instead of Mario as helpless baby, but c'mon guys, how can you not put Yoshi's Island on the list. It's one of the classy 2D platformer game on SNES featuring with brilliant graphics that Super FX 2 takes advantages of SNES hardware, superb gameplay overall with having abilities to use eggs as throwing attack, swallow or spit out the enemies, using items from the pause menu, using ground pound and pushing the objects, and of course the levels is so damn epic to play with impressive boss fight and intense overall stages.
It's annoying how Baby Mario won't stop crying while floating with balloon during the gameplay and it's makes you want to rescue him, but NOOO IT'S MAKES YOUR EAR BLEED BECAUSE OF THE BUZZING NOISE, AHH WILL THE BABY MARIO EVER STOP CRYING ALREADY!!!
Anyway it's still a fantastic game for SNES library, so this game has great levels, fun mini game, superb gameplay controls, and it has the best boss stages in the game.

2 - Super Mario Galaxy Series

Super Mario Galaxy series is incredible 3D platformer game for Nintendo Wii that blows my mind.
It is one of the most acclaimed game that Nintendo has to offer for Wii owners.
I say that the whole game has higher atmosphere, bright graphics, fun to explore the outer space, and excellent usage with Wii remote and nunchunk makes the overall gameplay control plays very well for platform games.
This game has so much inspiring levels with usage of gravity power, awesome power-ups, very puzzled designed stages, collecting star bits, discovering the new levels, and of course you can collect up to 120 stars to play as Luigi is nice addition for this game that Nintendo puts so much variation of the game.
It is the best Mario game for the Nintendo Wii and you should able to buy this for the Nintendo Wii collections.

1 - Super Mario 64

AH YES!!! It's my favorite Mario games ever on my list. Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64 is the most revolutionary game that changed gaming and it defines the 3D platform genres, so this game is the best example of using the N64 analog stick allowing to give a precised 3D control movements and dynamic camera control allowing to give camera system a superb free look and better camera angle are the most influential video game controls of all time. This game offers a superb 3D levels with free to explore the levels, collecting stars, finding hidden secrets, and the character has an ability to swim on the water, performing triple jump, back flip, long distance jump, using 3 awesome power-ups to make Mario fly with Wing Cap, turns Mario invisible with Invisible Cap, and turns Mario metal with Metal Cap. It has the best graphics on N64 games that allowing N64 system to handle the whole 3D enviroments with well designed levels, so much polished textures and backgrounds, and more usage of colors that makes the game more true to 64 bit era.
This got to be a most wanted Mario game for the N64 owners out there.
