Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3 Review

Before I review this, lets talk about the history of Ninja Gaiden series.

If you want to read my reviews, please scroll down to title name "Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3 Review".

History of Ninja Gaiden Series

In 1988, Tecmo made the game called Ninja Gaiden was made for Coin-up Arcade System. It's a beat em ups side scroller game just before NES version came 1 year later. The NES version turn out to be a hack n slash platformer game which comes with cinematic scenes, and different gameplay style. It turn out to be one of the best hack n slash game on NES, even it's difficult to complete it, due to higher difficulty which makes the gameplay even more challenging. It praised for a storyplot, and the characters such as Ryu Hayabusa is one of the badass ninjas in the series. The sequel called Ninja Gaiden 2: The Dark Sword of Chaos came released in 1990, and so with Ninja Gaiden 3: The Anicent Ship of Doom came released in 1991. In between 1996 and 2003, Tecmo also made a fighting games series called Dead or Alive which features Ryu Hayabusa as a fighting character roster, along with other characters like Kasumi, Ayane and Hayate. In 2004, Tecmo and Team Ninja made a 3D hack n slash game called Ninja Gaiden for Xbox which is completely different from NES series. It became well received from critics, calling it best hack n slash adventures games on Xbox exclusive only. 4 years later, the sequel called Ninja Gaiden 2 came out for X360 which also have positive reviews by critics. Tecmo and Team Ninja also offers a PS3 and PSVita port which is called Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2 as a improved and updated version of original xbox and X360 which also have great overall reviews. In 2012, Ninja Gaiden 3 came out for PS3 and X360 turned out to be worst sequels on the series, due to poor reviews criticise the game is too shallow and being too streamlined. The Wii U ports came 8 or 10 month later which received lot better than the PS3 and X360 counterpart, due to Wii U have solved the lot of problems with gameplay and graphics. It is rumored that Tecmo will announce the new project called Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z which is reboot to Ninja Gaiden series with different stories and gameplay mechanics.

So thats the history of the Ninja Gaiden Series and lets review the game for now.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3 Review

Oh yes, it is a hack n slash game for PS3 as a updated version of a original Xbox version. This game came with extra 3 chapters which involves the character Rachel is become a playable in the game. It also improves a graphics engine which runs HD with better details, and runs up to 60 fps. The story starts off with Ryu Hayabusa visiting to clan leader Murai just before Ayane delivers the news to Ryu that his village been attacked by Doku who has killed the Hayabusa's shrine maiden Kureha and has taken the Dark Dragon Blade.
Ryu Hayabusa set his mission to fight off the Doku and the members to avenge Kureha's death and bring the stolen blade back where it came from. The gameplay is pretty good with character movements which Ryu can perform wall jump, and wall running which is pretty cool. The attack system is also cool as well with combo moves and fighting performance. The weapons are really damn awesome such as Dragon sword, Kitetsu, Dabilahro, Lunar staff, Vigoorian Flail, and of course my favourite weapons in the game is Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang. It also can shoot the projectile weapons such as Shuriken, Bow and Arrow, and smoke bombs which is handful to use. You can perform ninpo attack as a power ups attack which is great way to use, when the bad guys is too strong to kill. You can able to purchase the items, and upgrading weapons from the shops. You can upgrading health, ninpos and power ups from pause menu, when you got it from treasure box. While the gameplay is good, the difficulty is just how hard the game is?. The levels stages is confusing to find unless you have a map with you to help yourself where you at? and where you supposed to go?. The bad guys keeps respawning lot of times and took you to kill them in 5 mins, but they are quite tough as hell. The boss fights is quite frustraighting to kill as well, so make sure you have enough items to increase your character's health. The graphics is much cleaner with better textures, backgrounds and some good animation which pretty look decent running on HD. The music and sounds are just sounds kick ass. The music is awesome, The sound effects is cool, and the voice acting are sounds ok'ay with English but I say Japanese is sounds lot better with English subtitles which are pretty good with character voices. The special features comes with mission mode, survival mode, characters costumes and online rankings.

Advantages

You can play as Rachel on 3 chapters.

Solid gameplay.

Intresting storyplot.

Decent Graphics.

Unlockables stuff.

Disadvantages

Higher difficulties.

Confusing levels.

Final Verdict

Here is my final verdict.

Gameplay 7.7/10 - Good controls makes cool attack system with combos and great character's movements.

Graphics 7.5/10 - Good graphics with better textures, backgrounds, and animation look decent with HD performance for PS3.

Music and Sounds 7.5/10 - Kick ass music, great sound effects and good voice acting.

Special Features 8/10 - This game has mission mode, survival mode, characters costume and online ranking.

Overall 7.7/10 - Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a solid hack n slash game regarding with better updates from original xbox version. This game is recommended for pro gamers to buy it who owned PS3. If you already have a game on Xbox, then you have to stick it with original game for Xbox. If you're the casual gamer out there, then why not give a try renting it, whatever you like it or not.

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor Wii Review

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor is a cabal shooter for Nintendo Wii. It is developed by Treasure (which is best known for classics games like Gunstar Heroes, Radiant Slivergun and Ikaruga) who previously did made a original game for a Nintendo 64 in 2000, even it's just came out in Japan only. Back in 2007, Treasure fans suggesting developers to make a release for US and Europe to bring a original game for Virtual Console, and it turn out to be a best shooter for N64. While the original game is successful on Virtual Console release, Treasure decided to bring a sequel for Nintendo Wii which came released in 2010.
This game brought with newer gameplay, better graphics, online ranking, 2 player co-op, and 8 stages.
The story is takes place after the original game, the sequel is about the two different characters Isa and Kachi has to defend themselves from the group of Nebulox which is led by Doko who wanted to kill these two for his betrayal. The gameplay is simple, all you have to do is to point, lock on, shoot, dodge, slash and move. You have a 4 choice of controller methods such as Wii remote and Nunchunk, Wii Zapper, Wii classic controller, and Nintendo Gamecube controller is to choose a right controller for you to play a game with better game experiences. The controls are excellent, it's better to use a Wii remote and Nunchunk to have a accurate shooting and easy to control, while the Nintendo Gamecube Controller and Wii classic controller is recommended for pro gamers with challenged gameplay. The difficulty is really hard to clear the stage with boss fights and levels stages may be frustraighting for some players, but that's okay for me. The graphics is stunningly brilliant with nice visuals, superb animation, great backgrounds and textures, and runs at 60 fps makes the polished looking game. The music and sounds does have a great music, cool sound effects and decent voice acting. The special features has stage select and unlockable mode such as music test (complete with easy mode), frame rate mode (complete with hard mode), turbo mode (complete with hard mode) and hard mode (complete with medium mode).

Advantages

Excellent gameplay

Superb Graphics

Impressive Music and sounds

Unlockables stuff

Stage Select

Fun 2 player co-op

Disadvantages

Punishing Difficulty

Final Verdict

Is original N64 games better or Is it finally this game more lot better, here is my final verdict.

Gameplay 9.1/10 - Excellent controls makes a playable shooter games.

Graphics 9/10 - Stunningly brilliant with visuals, animation, background and textures, and 60 fps makes the polished looking game.

Music and sound 8.5/10 - Great music, cool sound effects and decent voice acting.

Special features 9/10 - Stage select and unlockables stuff.

Overall 9.2/10 - This game is definitely the better sequel makes the best shooter on Wii. I say buy it.

5 reasons why Kinect sucks

I like the X360 with some of the good games with online play that came a long ago. When it's comes with motion controller for seventh generation consoles like Nintendo Wii has a Wii remote just released on 2006, just before Sony made a PS Move for PS3 on 2010. Happened in January 2010, Microsoft plans to make their own motion controller that is not required to have any controller on your hand, instead you have to use your body movements as a controller which kinda similar with PS2 eye toy that already came out in 2003. Kinect was released in November 2010, and my brother brought X360 with Kinect for Christmas on 2011.
I've tried some of the Kinect games, and then what can I say?, It's piece of friken shit!.
Kinect is a worst peripherals thats ruins the X360 efforts. It's boring, It's repetitive, and it's a waste of time.
I have to give 5 reasons why Kinect sucks ass, and avoid this piece of crap forever.

It's my opinions and I don't hate X360. This blog post is for a gamers who hates Kinect.

1. Causing Accidents

Seriously guys, It's no good to play Kinect in small houses or anything that is not safe for gamers to play. There is a some major injuries that people didn't do watch what they doing. It's like when the two people get too close at each other during the gameplay, it's accidently hitting on their faces and end up with nosebleed, even they accidently did it to little children when getting to near at players while playing Kinect. Especially it did happen to independent players when the person get too close at TV which prevents breaking the screen by punching or kicking, and even damaging the objects like antiques varse or plant pot which is not good way to play at small rooms with no free space. That is far even worse than people who playing Nintendo Wii with the Wii remote on their hand which did a same thing as people do on Kinect. Kinect gives a bad experiences to gamers and families with no enjoyment and fun.

2. Shitty Motions controls

Honestly it's terrible for most of the Kinect games. The motions controls is awful as ever. It's unresponsive, It's clunky, and keeps losing track. When I play Kinect at my brother's house, I've tried out the Kinect Sports with 6 sports games like for examples, Track and Field which I want to play Javelin or discus. When i'm attempting to throw Javelin straightforward and what my character do?, it didn't throw at all, so let's try second attempt, and then throw Javelin straightforward and what happen next?, it end up at lower metre area which Kinect wont allow me to throw higher than this. So what about discus?, well I'm about to throw discus straightforward and what my character do?, it end up throwing at wrong directions.
I've tried few of the Kinect games, and it never worked at all. God it's frigging horrible. Kinect has a lot of issues that become unplayable, and can't let players control the game well. Screw the Kinect and stick it with playing a real games with X360 controller.

3. Shitty Kinect Games Library

Lot of the Kinect games sucks compared to actual X360 games. Most of the Kinect games like Kinect Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollows, Kinect Adventures, Kinectimals, Game Party, Dance Central, and all of them is just piece of garbage. What is the point of buying Kinect games with shitty ass controls which didn't do anything at all. It's gimmicky, It's cheesy, It's boring as hell, and It's not worth to buying it. It's better to stick with a real X360 games (e.g Halo 3, Bioshock, Gears of War, Half Life 2 and others) with the actual X360 controller is a best thing for gamers to enjoy with online play.

Stay way from Kinect games.

4. Kinect cost lot expensive.

Wow just wow, it's cost £100 to buy a friggin Kinect for X360. Just to say if the kids just purposely breaks this thing, and we never get chance to fixed it. There is another thing about buying Kinect, buying the X360 consoles that bundles with Kinect is far even worse. It will cost up to £250 or £300, so what will happen if the Kinect gone useless and we have to sell this crap at gamestore but you can't because the bundles doesn't allow you to sold seperately, it's requires to sell both X360 and Kinect to get the money back which we don't want to sell an actual X360 consoles, we wanted to sell Kinect damnit!.
What a waste of money.

5. It's makes a adults look fool themselves.

I mean come on, Kinect is for children to play with, not a grown up gamers like us. You get embarrassed by playing this and getting watched by people laughing at you. How old are they?, 5 or 6 year old, they seems like over 25 year old playing stupid Kinect. Kinect does not make you look cool. It's make you look childish than adult age. If you want to be a true adult age?, Just get the actual X360 controller and play some real X360 games like I've said it on reason number 3.

So don't get me wrong because I like the X360 but I just hate Kinect.

Dead or Alive 5 PS3 Digital Download Review

I love the classics Dead or Alive games like original for Arcade version (which I'm using a emulator software), and so with Dead or Alive 2 for SEGA Dreamcast as one of the best on the series.
I also enjoyed Dead or Alive 3 on original Xbox (which I'm using my brother's Xbox) with great gameplay, and superb graphics which keeps the game up to date. I've never tried a forth one which my brother haven't got one yet but he does have a X360. This series are quite much like to other 3D fighting games such as Virtua Fighter and Tekken has a similar style of gameplay. What I like about the series are female characters roster like Kasumi, Ayane, Tina, Helena and Christie are the hottest Tecmo's characters on D.O.A series. While I like the previous games, now I'm going to review this game which already came out last year for PS3 and X360 while the PSVita version came out since last month.

Dead or Alive 5 is a 3D fighting games for PS3 and X360 which developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo. This game features story mode as single player campaign including arcade mode, training mode, and survival mode. The muiltiplayer has online battle including versus offline mode. You can play ether the 1 on 1 battle or tag team battle which ever you want to enjoy your fighting game experiences. The gameplay is quite good as the other 3D fighting games. It has a fast paced combos moves and great techniques styles of characters movements what makes the control more balanced and steady. The stages are excellent with some dangerous objects which is quite awesome to see a characters gets kicked off the arenas, and attempts falling down. This game can run up to 60 fps which makes the performance of this game moves faster and playable. The graphics are impressive with nice character design, smooth textures, and detailed backgrounds. The music and sounds are quite good too. The music sounds decent in each stages. The sound effects is loud and clear, and the voice acting is not that bad with English but you can also change voice to Japanese on options menu which sounds lot better. The special features has 21 characters including 3 guest characters like Akira, Sarah, and Pai from Virtua Fighter series. It also has DLC stages, and costumes to download it from PSN and XBL. It does have a cross save which you can able to share save data from PSVita to PS3 which gives you a extra stuff from DOA 5 plus.

Advantages

Great gameplay with fast paced combos and techniques styles of characters movements.

Runs up to 60 fps makes faster performance and playable.

Impressive graphics engine.

Great characters including 3 Virtua Fighter's rosters as the guest characters.

DLC content and cross save.

Fun Muiltiplayer.

Disadvantages

Story campaign is quite too short.

Final Verdict

Here is my conclusion.

Gameplay - 8.5/10 - Great controls with fast paced combos, and techniques especially faster performance with 60 fps makes this game more playable and fun.

Graphics 8/10 - Nice character design, great textures and detailed backgrounds.

Music and sounds - 7/10 - Decent music, cool sound effects, and ok'ay voice acting.

Special Features 7.5/10 - 3 guest characters, DLC content for stages and costumes, and cross saves.

Overall 8/10 - It's pretty good 3D fighting games which Tecmo and Team Ninja deserves a great sequel but nothing can beat the great D.O.A classics for older consoles. Buy this game and enjoy your fighting games experiences.
